Councilors Culpepper, Mejia, Pepén, Santana and Worrell offered the following: Resolution calling for the temporary suspension of correctional staff involved in the December, 2025 in custody death of Shacoby Kenny at the Suffolk County House of Correction. Councilor Mejia moved to close debate. On motion of Councilors Culpepper and Mejia, the rules were suspended; the resolution failed to be adopted: yeas 6 (Culpepper, Mejia, Pepén, Santana, Weber, Worrell), nays 3 (FitzGerald, Flynn, Murphy), present 2 (Breadon, Durkan), not present 1 (Coletta Zapata), absent 1 (Louijeune).
