Councilor Flaherty called Docket #1471, ordinance amending City of Boston Code, Ordinances Chapter 2-8.1, Salary of City Councilors, from Committee on Government of Operations. Hearing no objection the matter was before the body. Councilor Linehan offered an amendment (changing the effective date to January 4, 2016). The amendment passed; yeas 13. Councilors O’Malley and Pressley offered an amendment (changing the amount to $94,673.00 and adjust the salary annually using the median household income for the City of Boston. The amendment did not pass, yeas 2, (O’Malley and Pressley), nays 11 Recess Councilor Murphy offered an amendment (reducing the amount to $107,500.00).
